Working Together for the Children

The Daughters of the Nile Foundation makes it possible for the Daughters of the Nile to contribute nearly $1.8 Million annually to the Shriners Children’s Hospitals and Medical Centers. This effort is realized from the accumulation of contributions directly to the Foundation, through the Stepping Stones to Happiness Certificate program, wills and bequests, and the My Gift Incentive Program. Since 1924, Daughters of the Nile has contributed monetary gifts amounting to over $64 million.

The Foundation’s Convalescent Endowment Fund is an irrevocable trust fund, ensuring better lives for the special children today, and in the future.  The Foundation’s Convalescent Relief Account provides annual cash contributions.  The contributions to the account, along with a percentage of the endowment  fund’s market value, are donated directly for support of the hospitals and medical centers.

The members of Daughters of the Nile are proud of their Gold Plaques on the Donor Recognition Boards in the Shriners Children’s Hospitals and Medical Centers, each representing a contribution of over $1,000,000.

Each year the members of Daughters of the Nile give generously of their time to the hospitals by providing more than 150,000 volunteer hours at the hospitals and medical centers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In addition they sew clothing and quilts, and provide toys, books, games and other educational and recreational items for the children with an annual value of over $900,000.

If you are interested in becoming a member of this dynamic and dedicated fraternal order for women, please contact any member for further information.
